Al-Awlaki Killed, Obama Praised U.S. Military

"This is proof that Al Qaeda will have no safe place anywhere in the world."

United States President Barack Obama gave praise to the military that has killed high-ranking Al Qaeda in Yemen, Anwar Al-Awlaki, in an attack. Obama called the death of Al-Awlaki with one of his followers, Samir Khan, as evidence that there is no place for al-Qaeda anywhere in the world.

"Al-Awlaki is the director behind the bomb plot at Christmas 2009 that failed. In 2010, another plan to conceive a cargo plane bombings in the U.S. also failed," Obama said, as quoted by Arab News on Saturday, October 1, 2011.

"He also repeatedly called on U.S. citizens and the world to kill innocent people for the sake of an agenda other nasty murder," he continued.

Obama continued, the death of Al-Awlaki is a tribute to the U.S. intelligence community and Yemen. Because Awlaki and his organization have been directly responsible for the deaths of many Yemenis.

"This is proof that Al Qaeda and its affiliates will have no safe place anywhere in the world," Obama said.
